Although they are the favorites, they are not the only team that is said to have the potential to win the conference. Oregon is a very good team. Michigan is the reigning Big Ten champ. Penn State is always considered a team that can use situations to their advantage.
All of these teams are considered potential conference champions. If Ohio State wants to win the Big Ten, it will have to watch out for a certain surprise candidate. This is a team that is actually on their schedule, but has a pretty easy schedule after that.
Iowa is a team that has made headlines in recent years for its terrible offense. Their defense is as good as any in the conference. The Buckeyes actually play Iowa in the shoe, a week before they have to travel to Oregon, so this could be a decoy game.
There’s a chance the Buckeyes will have to face Iowa in a rematch in the Big Ten Championship Game, as the Hawkeyes have the friendliest schedule in the Big Ten. In fact, the Ohio State Buckeyes are the only ranked team the Hawkeyes play.
The only other game Iowa may not be favored in is their home game against Wisconsin. The schedule looks good for them to get into the Big Ten Championship Game. Ohio State should keep an eye on them.
