No way! Wayne and Garth are arguing all the time

It is hard to believe that the actors behind Wayne’s World The characters Wayne and Garth have anything but a great party in mind.

But behind the scenes of the popular 90s series, Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, who played the aimless metalheads, had a difficult relationship off-screen.

In fact, there have been rumors of a feud between the two for years.

In a new interview with Howard Stern, Dana, now 61, admits that the relationship between him and Mike was doomed from the start.

The actor explains that Mike invited him to do the sketch on Saturday Night Live in 1987, and it just stuck.

“We were never meant to be a comedy team,” he says. “Mike just invited me to do the sketch (Wayne’s World). I’m grateful to him for that.”

But then, when the couple SNL When the sketches achieved cult status, Mike began to think about adapting them for the big screen.

At the time, rumors were circulating that Mike had tried to stop Dana from appearing in the film because he didn’t want to steal the show from her. What a diva.

But it was only when Mike launched his extremely successful Austin Powers: The International Mysterious When the film was released in 1997, the feud began to heat up.

Mike’s Dr. Evil, who was intended as a parody of Bond villains, seemed to be the imitations that Dana said he had made of SNL Producer Lorne Michaels on the set of the sketch show.

“With the little finger coming out, yes. When I first SNLnobody’s done (Lorne),” he explains. “It’s a really funny affectation because it’s so specific.

“Um… I’m in therapy now. When you look back, you get a better perspective.”

But that is probably long gone.

Finally, Dana, Mike and Wayne’s World Director Penelope Spheeris appeared together at a reunion of the film in 2013.

“We’re all getting too old to be angry,” Penelope said at the time.
