The Lake Mary Little League will play for the championship of the 2024 Little League World Series on Sunday.
The boys from Lake Mary, Florida, won the U.S. standings on Saturday and will now face Taoyuan City, Chinese Taipei, for the LLWS championship. If they win, Lake Mary will be the first team from Florida to take home the title.
The Florida Little League team representing the Southeast Region beat Boerne, Texas, 10-7 on Saturday, avenging a loss to the Southwestern representatives earlier in the tournament. Lake Mary is 6-1 in Williamsport after winning its first two games and is now on a four-game winning streak. Chinese Taipei of the Asia-Pacific Region defeated Barquisimeto, Venezuela, 4-1 on Saturday in the international championship and is five games undefeated.
