Drake Surprise releases three new songs, featuring Playboi Carti

Drake surprise-released a trio of new songs on Friday via his Instagram burner account @plottttwistttttt, weeks after leaking three other songs earlier this month.

The new songs are called “Circadian Rhythm,” “SOD,” and “No Face,” the latter of which features Playboi Carti. “SOD” appears to be the same song as “Supersoak,” the track Lil Yachty originally shared with Twitch streamer Kai Cenat last month.

Yachty said there were issues with releasing the track’s samples because creator Mr. Hotspot had religious objections to the use of the samples. Yachty was removed entirely from the version Drake shared on Friday.

The three tracks are just the latest in a cryptic release of new music from the rapper. Earlier this month, he posted several other unreleased songs — “It’s Up” featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, “Blue Green Red” and “Housekeeping Knows” featuring Latto — on the website 100gigs.org, along with behind-the-scenes videos and unreleased cover artwork.

The songs punctuate a quiet summer for Drake, who has kept a relatively low profile since his public rap feud with Kendrick Lamar, whose vicious diss track “Not Like Us” became one of the summer’s biggest songs, spending two weeks at the top of the Hot 100.

It is unclear if and when Drake’s new songs will be available for purchase or on streaming services. A spokesperson for Drake did not immediately respond to Rolling StonePlease leave a comment.
