“West Wing” star gets personal in attack on Cheryl Hines

Actor Bradley Whitford, known for his performance in The western wingX showed no mercy when he attacked Cheryl Hines and her husband RFK Jr. on Saturday.

Whitford, 64, criticized Hines’ silence following her husband’s failed presidential bid and his support of former President Donald Trump.

“Hey @CherylHines, this is how you stay silent while your crazy husband supports the convicted rapist who brags about stripping women of their basic rights,” Whitford wrote. “Courageous. Great example for the kids. A profile full of courage,” a jab at President John F. Kennedy’s classic book.

Whitford attached a video to his tweet in which Trump explained how his Supreme Court appointments would reverse Roe v. Wade.

Whitford played the White House Deputy Chief of Staff, Josh Lyman, in all seven seasons of the The western wing. Hines, 58, is best known for her role in Curb your enthusiasmOpposite Seinfeld Creator Larry David.

Hines had previously stated that she did not believe her “marriage would survive” if Kennedy Jr. supported Trump. On Friday, Hines posted a message on her X-account following Kennedy Jr.’s endorsement that was met with rejection.

“The decision has been made to suspend the presidency of my husband, Robert Kennedy Jr., and I want to express my sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all the people who worked so tirelessly and lovingly on his campaign,” Hines wrote.

Hines has tried to position herself as a voice of reason amid RFK Jr.’s wild claims. In 2022, when Kennedy invoked Anne Frank’s name to claim that Jews had more freedoms than unvaccinated Americans during the Holocaust, she posted on X: “My husband’s reference to Anne Frank at a mandatory vaccination rally in DC was reprehensible and insensitive. His opinion does not reflect my own.” She subsequently deleted the tweet.
