Sarah Beeny asked her sons to shave her hair at the beginning of her battle with cancer

Sarah Beeny had her sons shave her head when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

The presenter of the show “Sarah Beeny Against Cancer” allowed her four sons Billy (18), Charlie (16), Rafferty (14) and Laurie (12), whom she has with her husband Graham Swift, to shave their heads as an “act of defiance” when she received the news of her cancer in August and is now very happy with the low-maintenance hair care routine she has followed since then.

The 51-year-old star told Radio Times magazine: “It’s really helped me to just go to work with one of my wigs on and be normal – although looking back, some of the wigs weren’t that great. I can get ready in four minutes, which is brilliant.”

When Sarah got the news, she thought she was going to die and started mentally organizing the funeral.

She asked herself: “What kind of coffin do I need?”

The former Property Ladder star, who was later told she had an 80 percent chance of beating the diagnosis and was given the green light in April after undergoing a bilateral mastectomy, drew strength from the reminder that it would “help people” see the reality of the disease.

Sarah said: “It wasn’t an easy decision… I felt like it would help people and that motivated me to keep going.”

The star of Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country recently described her breast implants as “like stuffing a pillow”.

Sarah said: “I have my fake breasts now and they are actually quite similar to the old ones. They just took the old ones out from the inside and put new innards in.”

“It’s like re-stuffing a pillow… except these feel a little bit like memory foam, which is a little weird. So they’re actually similar, except that when you lay them down, they don’t fall to the side at all. They kind of stay there, like Belisha Beacons.”
