Gourg Khanchat leads the final table of the Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville Mystery Bounty

Gourg Khanchat arrived on the second day of the 2024 Card Player Poker Tour, bestbet Jacksonville $1,700 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event in 32nd place out of the remaining 55 entrants. When the final table was set, the Jacksonville resident was the clear chip leader. To make this dream scenario even better, Khanchat (pictured above) also managed to win the biggest bounty there was to win: the $50,000 payout.

This event attracted 440 entrants, creating a prize pool of $662,200, more than doubling the guaranteed prize pool of $300,000. $220,000 was reserved for bounties, with payouts ranging from $500 to $50,000.

In addition to the main payout, Khanchat also received a $10,000 and $500 bonus, meaning he has secured $60,500 without even considering how he performs at the final table. He and the other eight competitors are guaranteed at least $8,780 if they make it to the final nine, with $87,820 going to the eventual champion.

This format seems to suit Khanchat, as he finished second in the $1,700 Mystery Bounty last year. World Poker Tour Bestbet Scramble Festival and earned a career-best tournament result of $47,726. He would surpass that with a top-two finish at this event.

Thad McNultyKhanchat has 41 percent of the chips in play before the final table. The second largest stack belongs to James Leonard with 2,700,000.

Thad McNulty, who finished fourth in 2019 CPPT bestbet jacksonville Main Event and ninth place finisher in this event last year, secured the third-largest stack at $1,175,000. He will look to add to his tournament earnings of $629,247 with another strong performance.

Nikhil Sunku, who finished third in a RunGood Poker Series Main Event here at bestbet Jacksonville earlier this year, is in fourth place with 985,000 chips.

Johnny Pham sits in the middle of the pack with 715,000. This will be the biggest live tournament win to date for the longtime Las Vegas poker industry contributor, regardless of how he performs at this final table.

Alex Kimpel, who finished fourth in this event last year for $27,106, still has a chance to improve on his result, but at $425,000 he is the shortest stack of the remaining nine.

Among the 46 players who were eliminated on the second day were many well-known players, including the ten-time World Series of Poker Tour Ring winner Jeffrey Trudeau (55th), 2019 WOPSP Sixth place in the Main Event Zhen Cai (45th), Toby Boas (40th), Allison Hollander (39th), Angel Boas (31st), 2021 bestbet Jacksonville Trifecta Series Main Event Champion Kelly Joe Andrews (29th), 2021 CPPT bestbet jacksonville Jessica Cai (16th), fifth in the main event, and 2021 CPPT bestbet jacksonville The third-place finisher in the main event, Dustin Holladay (11th), finished third.

The day ended when Bryan Bennett was eliminated in tenth place ($8,780). In this hand, he raised from the cutoff to 60,000 and James Leonard called on the button. The flop was AClub suit2Heart SuitADiamond Suit and both players checked. The turn brought the 10Heart SuitBennett bet 65,000 and Leonard called. The river was the KHeart SuitBennett checked, Leonard bet 205,000 and Bennett wasted a while before checking-raising all-in for about 730,000. Leonard immediately called with AHeart Suit10Spade Suit for aces full of tens, better than Bennett’s KClub suit9Club suit to complete day 2.

The final table begins on Monday, August 26th at 14:00 local time. There are 12:31 minutes left in Level 23, with blinds ranging from 15,000-30,000 with a big blind ante of 30,000. The action will be streamed on bestbetLIVE.
