Donald Trump says Elon Musk has no time for the cabinet, but can advise

Donald Trump said Elon Musk could advise the country and contribute ideas, especially on the subject of AI.

Washington, DC:

Former US President Donald Trump said he would like to keep Tesla CEO Elon Musk in his cabinet if he were elected president.

In an unaired interview with Shawn Ryan, host of the US “Shawn Ryan Show”, Trump said he would keep Musk in his cabinet, but doubted Musk could do so given that he already has so much on his plate.

Ryan asked Trump if Musk would have to do something in the field of artificial intelligence to stay in the Cabinet.

“He wants to get involved now. Look, he runs big companies and all that, so he can’t really do that. I don’t think he (would be able to do the work of the Cabinet). I would definitely put him in the Cabinet. But I don’t know how he could do that with all the things he has going on,” Trump said.

Trump said Musk could advise the country and contribute ideas, especially on AI.

“But he can, as the saying goes, advise the country and come up with some very good ideas, for example on AI. Nobody knows more about that than Elon. That’s a big deal,” he said.

Trump said that if the US did not focus on developing artificial intelligence, someone else would – most likely China.

“This is very important for the country. If we don’t do it, China or someone else will. But most likely China. And China is working on developing a massive flood of electricity. And we are not doing that because we have people who don’t even think about it,” he said.

Trump said Musk was an “unusual character.” He said Musk was a genius and we should appreciate him.

“We have a great relationship. He (Musk is) great. He’s a totally unusual character. He’s great and he’s smart, and we have to value our geniuses. You know, we don’t have too many of them. He’s a brilliant guy, and what he would really like to do is advocate for trimming some of the fat. And he knows how to do that, and he loves the country. You know, that’s just an amazing thing.”

Trump said that if the election did not go the right way, the country would be doomed.

“We have to win this election. This election is going to happen. November 5th will be, in my opinion, the most important day in the history of our country, because if our country goes in the wrong direction in this election, then I think this country is doomed,” he said.

Trump said the fact that his podcast with Musk on August 13 was seen by millions was “crazy.”

“We were talking about this the other day… I heard there were hundreds of millions of people. I heard it was the largest audience ever. I mean, would you say that’s an accurate statement? There have never been anywhere near that many. I heard 750 million people. I mean, those are crazy numbers,” he said.
