Marriott’s Elite Program Marriott Bonvoy is one of the largest hotel loyalty programs with over 8,500 hotels worldwide. There are five levels of elite status:

  • Silver Elite: 10 Elite Night Credits
  • Gold Elite: 25 Elite Night Credits
  • Platinum Elite: 50 Elite Night Credits
  • Titanium Elite: 75 Elite Night Credits
  • Ambassador Elite: 100 Elite Night Credits plus $23,000 in annual qualifying spend

There are five Bonvoy co-branded credit cards: four for consumers and one for businesses. Each offers Elite Night Credits as a benefit of card membership, and some have 15 credits. That’s enough for Silver Elite status with a solid boost toward higher elite status. In addition, some cards have Gold Elite or Platinum status.

Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card*

The Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card* is a $0 annual fee card that grants the holder only five Elite Night Credits but automatically earns Marriott Silver Elite status. New cardholders can earn 60,000 bonus points and 1 free night when they spend $2,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening.

Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card*

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card* costs $95 per year. Cardholders receive 15 Elite Night Credits as a simple perk for owning the card and automatically earn Silver Elite status. Eligible new cardholders can earn 3 free nights when they spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening. Marriott Bonvoy Boundless cardholders also receive an additional Elite Night Credit for every $5,000 they spend with the card, meaning members can achieve Gold Elite status when they spend $35,000 in a calendar year.

Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card

The Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card (terms and conditions apply. See Prices & Fees) comes with a higher annual fee of $250, but cardholders receive free Gold status, which includes a 25% bonus on eligible hotel bookings and 15 Elite Night Credits toward Platinum Elite.

The welcome bonus offered with the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card is generous. Eligible new cardholders can earn 155,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points when they spend $5,000 on purchases with the card within the first 6 months of account opening.

Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful™ Credit Card*

The Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful™ Credit Card* is like the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card in almost every way, except the card issuer is Chase. Like the Bevy, the Bountiful has a $250 annual fee, offers automatic Gold status, and cardholders receive 15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year.

The similarities continue with the welcome bonus offer. Eligible new cardholders can earn 85,000 bonus points when they spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening.

Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card

The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card (terms and conditions apply. See Prices & Fees) comes with a hefty $650 annual fee, but makes up for it with numerous benefits. In addition to the 25 Elite Night Credits, cardholders are guaranteed Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status. The card also offers up to $300 in statement credits per calendar year (up to $25 per month) for eligible purchases at restaurants worldwide.

The card also offers a welcome bonus of 185,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points when you spend $6,000 on purchases within the first six months.

Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card

For small businesses, the Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card is approved with an annual fee of $125 (terms and conditions apply. See Prices & Fees) earn 15 Elite Night Credits and receive Marriott Gold Elite status for free.

Eligible new cardmembers can earn 3 free nights when they spend $6,000 on eligible purchases within the first six months of account opening (certain hotels charge resort fees).

The Platinum Card® from American Express and the Business Platinum Card® from American Express

In addition to the Bonvoy co-branded cards, two other cards confer Marriott Elite status: The Platinum Card® from American Express (terms and conditions apply. Both cards can be enrolled to earn Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status, which is just one in a long list of valuable benefits these cards offer to justify the annual fees.

If you don’t have them already, the Platinum Card offers a welcome bonus of 80,000 Membership Rewards points after you spend $8,000 on eligible purchases with the card within the first 6 months of card membership.
