Woolworths announces price reductions for over 450 products

Australian supermarket chain Woolworths has announced price reductions on hundreds of everyday items both in-store and online.

From August 28, the prices of over 450 products will be reduced, with some family meals offering discounts of up to 23%.

As part of the Prices Dropped program, the retailer is slashing prices on a range of fresh protein products, including family-favourite meat dishes such as Champagne Leg Ham Sliced From The Deli, Woolworths Beef Sizzle Schnitzel and Woolworths Chicken RSPCA Approved Chicken Wings.

Prices have also been reduced for pantry items such as snacks, salad dressings and children’s yoghurts, as well as for everyday household cleaning and personal care products.

Paul Harker, Chief Commercial Officer at Woolworths, said: “Our customers have told us they value value more than ever.

“This spring, we’re reducing prices on over 450 products to help consumers better manage their budgets, especially as Australians return to spending more time with family and friends at meals and events during the warmer months.”

Woolworths also introduced the new “Lower Shelf Price”, which will see shelf prices on more than 50 products reduced from August 28.

Items included in this program include Essentials Tuna, Woolworths Greek Yoghurt and Essentials Sugar White.

Harker added: “In addition to our seasonal campaign, we are also introducing a range of products at a lower shelf price to give customers even more opportunities to save money over longer periods at Woolworths.

“Customers just need to look for the red lower shelf price sign in store and online to find the products that have had their shelf price reduced. We continue to work hard to provide our customers with more value when shopping with us.”

Woolworths recently announced its plans to build Western Australia’s first Customer Fulfillment Centre (CFC) in Mirrabooka, north of Perth.
