Meek Mill freestyles over Drake’s “Family Matters” diss track: Watch

Meek Mill took to social media over the weekend to share a video of himself listening to a freestyle he did over the beat to Drake’s diss track “Family Matters.” In the clip, he plays the track in a car while rapping along. Drake released the original version of the song earlier this year when he was feuding with Kendrick Lamar.

Fans had mixed reactions to the freestyle on X (formerly Twitter). “He literally copies everything Drake does. When Drake had braids he got them (regardless of if he had them years ago). And he also raps to every single beat Drake raps on. He’s a fan,” argued one user. Another added, “It’s really amazing how this man’s image has changed to absolute dope. I really can’t forget it.” Others were more enthusiastic about the snippet. “That sounds like Dreams & Nightmares Meek,” noted one fan.

Meek’s version of Drake’s “Family Matters” comes after he spoke about his relationship with the Toronto rapper last year. “Now we’re at a point where we can text each other and say anything… We have that honesty where we can leave it on the table and walk away and feel good about it. And we didn’t have that before the fight,” he said on SiriusXM’s Hip-Hop NationThe two had a famous argument in 2015, but today they are clearly on better terms with each other.
