- Suspect sought after shooting in Bronx
BRONX, NY — The New York Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person wanted in connection with a reckless endangerment incident in the 25th Precinct.
According to police, the incident occurred around 2:58 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, near Lexington Avenue and East 116th Street. An unknown man fired a firearm in the area, but no injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a man of medium skin tone and medium build. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, a blue du-rag and blue sandals.
The NYPD has released images of the person and is urging anyone with information about his identity or whereabouts to come forward.
“We are asking the public for help in identifying this individual,” the New York Police Department said in a statement.
- New Jersey prepares for another heat warning on Wednesday
Summer isn’t over yet, and New Jersey is already getting hot again. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for much of the state, effective from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. With heat index readings expected to soar as high as 40 degrees, residents are being warned to take precautions as the sweltering temperatures can lead to heat-related illnesses.
The warning applies to a wide area, including parts of northern Delaware, central and southern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. Cities such as Morristown, New Brunswick and Freehold, as well as the Philadelphia suburbs, are all in the warning zone.
