Cheap tickets for cinema day – News

Film fans are in for a treat when National Cinema Day returns to Carlow on Saturday 31st August.

With both the Omniplex and the IMC participating, cinemagoers can benefit from ticket prices of €5, including for premium seats, screens and 3D screenings.

Last year’s National Cinema Day, supported by Screen Ireland, was a huge success with over 217,000 visitors, making it the busiest cinema day of the year.

Over 99% of cinemas across Ireland will be taking part and there will be a variety of new and current releases to experience.

Cinema occupies an important place in Irish life and culture, with cinema attendance figures among the highest in Europe. Some of the films shown are Irish titles such as the acclaimed horror film curiositytogether with kneecapand documentaries Mrs Robinson And Notes from Sheepland. Moving prison drama Singing Singing will be released alongside dramas on the weekend of National Cinema Day Touch; a remake of The Count of Monte Cristo; Horror thriller Worried and a new edition of The Italian job. Popular titles including Deadpool and Wolverine And It ends with us,together with family favorites Inside Out 2 And Despicable Me 4, are also available.
