Film fans are in for a treat when National Cinema Day returns to Carlow on Saturday 31st August.
With both the Omniplex and the IMC participating, cinemagoers can benefit from ticket prices of €5, including for premium seats, screens and 3D screenings.
Last year’s National Cinema Day, supported by Screen Ireland, was a huge success with over 217,000 visitors, making it the busiest cinema day of the year.
Over 99% of cinemas across Ireland will be taking part and there will be a variety of new and current releases to experience.
Cinema occupies an important place in Irish life and culture, with cinema attendance figures among the highest in Europe. Some of the films shown are Irish titles such as the acclaimed horror film together with and documentaries And . Moving prison drama will be released alongside dramas on the weekend of National Cinema Day ; a remake of ; Horror thriller and a new edition of .
