S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Index reports 5.4% annual home price increase in June

On Tuesday, S&P Dow Jones Indices released its S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller US National Home Price NSA Index for June. Year-on-year, the index, which covers all nine US census tracts, recorded a Annual profit of 5.4%a decrease from the 5.9% increase in May.

The 10-City Composite posted a year-on-year increase of 7.4% in June, compared to 7.7% in May. The 20-City Composite posted a year-on-year increase of 6.5%, compared to 6.9% in May.

New York reported the highest year-over-year growth among the 20 cities, with an increase of 9.0%, followed by San Diego with an increase of 8.7% and Las Vegas with an increase of 8.5%. Portland again ranked lowest in year-over-year growth, with an increase of 0.8%.

The US National Index rose 0.5%, while the 20-City and 10-City Composites each rose 0.6%, further weakening the uptrend from last month.

After seasonal adjustment, the US National Index rose 0.2% month-on-month, while the 20-City and 10-City Composites rose 0.4% and 0.5%, respectively.
