The FPU Center for Community Transformation program is designed to help entrepreneurs start a business

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — An online course is designed to make the dream of starting a small business a reality.

Registration is now open for the Launchpad program, which is designed to help entrepreneurs achieve their goals.

Bryan Feil, associate director of the Center for Community Transformation (CCT) at Fresno Pacific University, walked me through Tink Construction’s website page by page.

“I believe he did this work down in Bakersfield, California,” Feil said.

He introduced the website created by company owner Ben Strickland.

Strickland created the website while taking CCT’s Small Business Launchpad course.

“He can now put this link on his business cards, on LinkedIn, Instagram or something similar.”

The seven-week course is designed to help entrepreneurs learn tools to turn an idea into a new business or improve an existing business.

“We talk about you and your business, your customers and your context, your message and how you connect with your current and future customers,” Feil said.

To date, CCT has supported over 100 companies in Central California through the Small Business Launchpad course.

The course is aimed at busy, business-oriented individuals.

It takes place online every Tuesday for two hours.

“We’ve seen a lot of successful people who have only been in the business for a year or two, but then get immersed in the work and often don’t have time to keep the big picture of their business,” Feil said.

The program is offered to everyone in the community.

You do not have to be a Fresno Pacific student to enroll.

The cost is $150 and two new cohorts are starting soon. One begins in September and the other in October.

Feil hopes that participants leave the course with the confidence and support they need to grow their ideas.

“Entrepreneurs don’t have to do this alone,” Feil said. “There are many great partner organizations that support entrepreneurs in their quest to be successful.”

There are only limited places available in the September year group and the registration deadline is August 28th. However, there are still enough places available in the October year group.
