Come and see what life was like for the first settlers of Glen Ellyn, on the same site where the first residents lived!

The Glen Ellyn Historical Society will host its 29th Pioneer Day Celebration on Sunday, September 29, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the historic Stacy’s Tavern Museum, 800 N. Main St. in Glen Ellyn.

Try being a pioneer in 1840s life. Farm animals will greet you on site, courtesy of the Goodrich family farm. This farming family has participated in over 16 pioneer days at Stacy’s Corners.

Meet the Goodrich family and the great group of 4-H club members who support them. In addition to the live farm animals, there will be music, crafts for children, candle making, corn shelling, apple peeling, pioneer games and toys.

Learn how to do laundry in the style of the 1840s, experience 1840s school in an outdoor classroom, tour Stacy’s Tavern and more. Admission is free for this year’s Pioneer Day event, thanks to a generous donation from Glen Ellyn Bank & Trust, which sponsors the event.
