Prepare for detours during late summer road construction

The Ohio Department of Transportation has released updates on Ottawa and Sandusky counties’ road construction projects for the coming weeks.

Ottawa County, Ohio 2, between Erie County and Ohio 53, Port Clinton, will experience lane restrictions and ramp closures for paving work beginning Labor Day weekend. The ramp closures have been postponed.

The ramps to and from Ohio 163 will be closed from 8:00 p.m. on September 15th through September 20th for resurfacing. The detour will take place via the ramps from Ohio 53.

The ramps to and from Ohio 269 will be closed from 8:00 p.m. September 22nd through September 27th for resurfacing. Detours are

● Ohio 269 westbound exit: Ohio 2 west to Ohio 53 north to Ohio 163 east; ● Ohio 269 westbound entrance: Ohio 2 east to the Ohio 269 interchange south to Ohio 2 west; ● Ohio 269 eastbound exit: Ohio 2 east to the Ohio 269 interchange south to Ohio 2 west; and ● Ohio 269 eastbound entrance: SR 163 west to Ohio 53 south to Ohio 2 east.

In Sandusky County, US 6 between the Wood County Line and Ohio 53 will have lane restrictions until September due to repaving. Traffic will be directed in one direction with temporary traffic lights.

US 6 between Ohio 510 and the Erie County line will be closed for road construction on September 11 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The detour runs via US 6 to Ohio 510, Ohio 412, Ohio 101 and Ohio 269.
