Dyson has been one of the most popular hair care brands on the market since 2012. Many thought it was a strange move after the success of its Vacuum cleanerDyson quickly proved that the company can also be an expert outside of floor care.
Dyson recently announced first styling products Collection. The Dyson Chitosan The range is inspired by chitosan and is made from chitosan, a macromolecule found in the cell walls of fungi. With a unique formula of chitosan from oyster mushrooms and Dyson’s Triodetic technology, Dyson Chitosan products provide all-day hold for all hair types and all styles without leaving a sticky or crunchy feeling.
On the launch day of Dyson Chitosan, I was kindly invited to have my hair styled with the new products and was allowed to take them home to try them out for myself. I have been using both products for a few weeks now and here is my honest experience and opinion.
Dyson Chitosan Experience: How to use it
The Dyson Chitosan range consists of two products: the Pre-Style Cream and the Post-Style Serum. Both products are available in different versions for straight to wavy hair and curly to frizzy hair respectively – since I have straight to wavy hair, I tried the former.
At the launch event for Dyson Chitosan, I had a hairdresser and Dyson GB ambassador, Chris Long I styled my hair and he explained how to use the products. After washing and towel drying my hair, Chris applied the pre-style cream to my hair. He first divided my hair into four sections and then gave each section a single pump. Instead of rubbing the product through my hair with your fingers or threading it, it’s best to lightly rub the pre-style cream into your palms, cup the hair between your hands and pull it through.
Afterwards Chris gave me beach waves with the new Dyson Supersonic Pure to dry my hair, followed by the Dyson Corrale Hair straightener. It was very exciting to see the Nural in action – Dyson’s most intelligent Hairdryer Still, it uses sensor technology to reduce the heat and airflow as it gets closer to the head to protect the scalp. It has a similar design to the original Supersonic, but after trying both, I have to say that the Nural was definitely gentler on my hair while drying it efficiently.
After styling, Chris worked the post-style serum into my hair and then applied hairspray. I loved the look of the beach waves and after walking around windy London and taking the train home, my style held for several hours.
Dyson Chitosan experience: the results
Since Chris Long is a hair genius, it was quite unlikely that I would achieve similar results at home, but I did my best! I used the Dyson Chitosan products together with my tried and tested Dyson AirWrap This worked really well, although I have to say I was more impressed with the look I achieved with mine using Dyson Chitosan. best hair straighteners.
I really liked the smell of the Dyson Chitosan products as it is fruity but not too overpowering and doesn’t have that sour smell that some hair sprays and mousses have. The packaging is what you would expect from Dyson – stylish yet practical. The caps are magnetic so they snap back on easily and the cream and serum are released one pump at a time.
I found the Dyson Chitosan cream and serum to be easy to apply to the hair. It doesn’t leave a sticky feeling in the palms or hair which is a huge plus and it doesn’t leave that crunchy feeling like some mousses do. I found the Dyson Chitosan range gave my hair a lovely shine and feel and the style lasted much longer than other styling products I’ve tried.
I have enjoyed using the Dyson Chitosan range and will continue to do so as it makes my hair look, smell and feel great. If you are looking for a hair styling product that holds well and lasts a long time – the products are designed to last for several years and you can buy refills from Dyson – I would recommend Dyson Chitosan.
The The Dyson Chitosan range will soon be available from Dysonwith prices starting from £49/$59.
