Flau’jae says working with Lil Wayne was “a dream come true”

Flau’jae And Lil Wayne recently teamed up for their first collaboration music video and it was exactly what she dreamed it would be.

The prominent LSU Tigers college basketball player and aspiring rapper has released the official visuals for her song “A beast came out” with Weezy on Monday, August 26. Her video, directed by Terrius Mykel, begins with a tough but inspiring message from LSU head coach Kim Mulkey, who encourages Flau’jae and her teammates to “play hard.” From there, Flau’jae shows off her rapping skills on and off the court with Lil Wayne by her side.

“Working with Lil Wayne on the video for ‘Came Out A Beast’ was a dream come true,” said Flau’jae Billboard. “He’s a legend in the game and to be able to collaborate with him on this track was surreal. The energy on set was incredible and we both brought that fire to the video. This is just the beginning and I’m excited for everyone to see what we’ve created.”

Flau’jae Johnson’s hit is one of several standout singles on her debut EP The best of both worlds which was released in mid-summer. The 9-track project also includes further collaborations with NLE Choppa (“AMF”) and 2rare (“Karma”). It is the second project she has dropped since starting her first season as a shooting guard for the LSU Tigers. Flau’jae’s album 4 My fans after being named the 2022–23 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Year and signing several name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals with major brands such as Puma and Taco Bell.
