Many people who move to New York are shocked by the high prices of renting an apartment. From realtor fees to security deposits to astronomical rents, it can be overwhelming.

However, for a lucky few there are rare real estate bargains.

A new building in Manhattan’s sought-after Hudson Yards neighborhood is opening its doors to over 100 affordable apartments as part of a housing lottery.

The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) offer a selection of affordable housing options. These various housing lotteries make upscale living an affordable reality for lucky winners.

Accordingly Secret NYC“New Yorkers who are eligible to participate in this Hudson Yards lottery and have an income between $59,280 and $209,625 are eligible to apply.”

There are 114 units available in this lottery. 15 of these units are studios starting at $1,655.

The average rent for a studio apartment in NYC is $3,133. apartments.com.

One- and two-bedroom apartments are also available at Hudson Yards Lottery, with the peak rent for a two-bedroom apartment being $3,861.

The Hudson Yards building at 550 10th Avenue is 46 stories tall and features a rooftop sky lounge, a resident fitness club, and co-working spaces.

It has many amenities and pets are allowed.

According to a new study by QR code generation service QR Code GeneratorNew Yorkers pay an average monthly rent of $3,783.80, which is 164% more than the average American.

Accordingly Visual CapitalistNew York City is the most expensive city in the US to rent a studio apartment, followed by Jersey City, NJ in second place and San Francisco in third place.

The Hudson Yards lottery runs until October 9th.
