Muskegon Community College (MCC) is pleased to offer a free two-week Manufacturing Basics program designed to teach local residents essential skills for the manufacturing industry. The program will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily, September 16-27, 2024, at MCC’s Sturrus Technology Center in downtown Muskegon.
Participants benefit from hands-on training, resume enhancement, and interview skills development that will help them land a job in today’s competitive job market. The program also includes OSHA 10 and Hi-Lo safety certification training to ensure participants acquire critical safety credentials. Additionally, participants gain hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing techniques such as robotics, CNC machining, and pressure relief, while participants have the opportunity to interview with several leading employers in the industry.
“Muskegon Community College’s Manufacturing Basics program offers students a valuable introduction to the dynamic world of manufacturing,” said MCC’s associate dean for workforce and talent development. “By providing hands-on experience and important certifications, this program opens doors to exciting career opportunities in a fast-growing field.”
This opportunity is open only to residents of Muskegon County. Participants receive a free breakfast and lunch each day.

Muskegon Community College offers over 80 degrees and certificates, including many in manufacturing fields such as welding, engineering and applied technology.
