45-year-old Richard Talman from “The Repair Shop” is actually married to Jenny, a former social worker.

The couple lives in Sussex with their two daughters Emily and Alice, who were the inspiration for the name of Richard’s jewelry brand Emilice.
Richard said: “I just wanted something that was unique.”
He added: “And something they could potentially carry on with one day. Considering they are now seven and five years old, they may want to join in one day.”
Richard Talman, a handyman from The Repair Shop, almost missed his chance to appear on the show, revealing that he thought the BBC’s invitation to take part in the show was a joke.
Richard described the near-incident as follows: “There was a message on my landline phone in the workshop that said: ‘I’m a researcher for a show called The Repair Shop and we were wondering if you would like to come along and fix some jewelry on TV.'”
He admitted his initial reaction was skeptical, explaining: “I wanted to press delete because I assumed it was a prank, but my wife googled the phone number and it came up with a production company, so I called her back!”
