André 3000 says the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar made him “sad”

The argument between Drake and Kendrick Lamar sparked strong reactions among many music fans. André 3000 reacted with sadness.

In a new Crack In the interview, André said about the dispute:

“I got a little sad at some point. In the early rap battles, kids rapped against each other in the park. But today, it’s not just people who rap. There are people with 100 employees. They have livelihoods, empires, companies, contracts – everything can be at stake. If you have nothing to lose, then do it. But if I’ve already done it, I’m not sure if it’s even worth it anymore.”

André also said that he has written a few diss tracks himself but never plans to release any. He said: “You have feelings… when n****s say some clever shit, the lines immediately pop into your head.”

Elsewhere, he discussed the relationship between music and artificial intelligence, saying: “I find some of the AI artwork interesting. But as humans, sometimes we just want to know what’s real. We want the human in things. (…) Before there were cameras, a king would hire the best artists to paint a portrait of you and your family. The best artists were the ones who could make it look as real as possible. But then cameras came along. So there were all these artists saying, ‘What do we do now?’ I think we’re at a similar point now. But what happened was – we have Van Gogh and we have the Impressionists. They do shit that the camera couldn’t do. You have to find your place. That’s the human thing.”
