Fall Fair, Wine Festival and More in Kane County – Shaw Local

Here are five things to do in Kane County:

1. Kane County Flea market: From noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, the monthly Kane County Flea Market will be held at the Kane County Fairgrounds, 525 S. Randall Road, St. Charles. More than 600 vendors will sell refurbished furniture, holiday decorations, sports collectibles, antiques and more. 2. Cougars vs Redhawks: The Kane County Cougars will face the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks on Sunday, Sept. 1 from 6:30-9 p.m. at Northwestern Medicine Field, 34W002 Cherry Lane, Geneva. Gates open at 5 p.m. and there will be a pregame concert by Wild Daisy, a performance by Tyler’s Amazing Balancing Act, postgame fireworks, a postgame run around the bases sponsored by Sonic Drive-In and an opportunity to get autographs in the team store after the game. 3. Festival of Wine: The Geneva Festival of the Vine will be celebrated Friday through Sunday, Sept. 6-8, on James Street between South Fourth and Fifth streets. Geneva restaurants will serve specialties under a tent at Flavor Fare. The event will also feature live music, wine tastings, an arts and crafts show at South Third and Campbell streets, horse-drawn carriage rides and dinner events in downtown Geneva, with a ticketed wine and chocolate tasting at All Chocolate Kitchen. 4. Pints ​​by the pond: On Saturday, Sept. 21, the Pints ​​by the Pond craft beer festival will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Peg Bond Center, 151 N. Island Ave., Batavia. Seventeen local breweries will be pouring beer, plus there will be food trucks and live music. Early admission will be available for VIP ticket holders at 1 p.m. The event is for those 21 and older. 5. Autumn Fair: The Geneva Park District Fall Fair will be held Saturday, September 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Road, Geneva. Admission to the fair is free, but fees apply for certain activities and food and beverages. Features include pony rides, a petting zoo, hayrides, a basket raffle, a wildlife presentation, pumpkin painting, children’s games, $5 pumpkins while supplies last, and other activities.
