Pick 6 transfer of ,000 to Thursday’s card at Saratoga

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – Thursday’s program at Saratoga Race Course is bolstered by an $85,836 Pick 6 carryover after the multiple bet failed to cash in Wednesday’s nine-race program.

The $1 Pick 6 prize paid out $28,612 to bettors who correctly selected 5 of 6 winners.

The sequence on Wednesday began with race 4 with the Michelle Giangiulio-trained Secret Rules (No. 7, $46.40) under Luis Rivera, Jr. caused a surprise in a six furlong race. The outsider victories continued in race 5 with Outtawaterbury (No. 6, $21.20) He completed a 1 1/16 mile state-bred unraced turf race under Luis Saez for trainer David Donk.

In the sixth race there was a similar surprise for the Melanie Giddings-trained Shesinamood (No. 2, $22.80) when she pulled out all the stops at the last minute to take the 5 1/2 furlong Maiden Turf victory under Shaun Bridgmohan.

The exciting finishes continued in race seven, where Saez scored his third win on the card. Cousin Kristi (No. 4, $6.90)who gave his all to win a 6 1/2 furlong state-bred Optional Claimer for trainer Phil Serpe.

In the eighth race, PG Johnson, endowed with $150,000, went to trainer Rusty Arnold. Totally Justified (No. 7, $14.60) completed the 1 1/16 mile turf course for young mares in style under Manny Franco.

With only one horse competing in the final of Race 9, there was one final close call on the day as Saez took his fourth win on the card with a flying finish on the mount. Justheart (No. 9, $32.80) for trainer Bruce Brown in a 5 1/2 furlong State-bred Turf Maiden Claimer.

The Thursday series begins with Race 6 (3:53 p.m. Eastern Time) and includes the Grade 3 With Anticipation in Race 10. The first start on the 11-race card is at 1:10 p.m.
