A few days ago, Valve officially announced Deadlock, its upcoming MOBA. Of course, many players already knew about the existence of this title, as it was tested by thousands of people for some time. However, at the moment we are flooded with information and various streams of the game. At the moment you need an invitation to join and it’s free. But will it continue to be free to play after the release of 1.0? Let’s find out.

Will Deadlock be free to play (F2P)?

We don’t know when Deadlock will be released. All we know for sure is that it will be available on Steam, and console versions are pretty unlikely given Valve’s history. However, many people are already thinking about the future. One of the most frequently asked questions is about the distribution fee. Will the title be free to play?

Frankly, it is unlikely that this will not be the case. We firmly believe that this will be the case. Let us look at the facts. At this point Valve supports 3 popular multiplayer games Counter Strike, Dota and Team Fortress. All of them are free to play. Considering how long they have been on the market, we can assume that they are profitable and this business model works quite well for Gaben Newell’s company. It is highly unlikely that they will change it now. Of course, we are not 100% sure because the developers are not sharing any information about it yet and It does not have the Free to Play tag on Steam. It is also possible that there will be some kind of paid version alongside the free version, as in the case of CS2.

Now that the game has been officially announced, we expect the company to continue to reveal more news over the next few months. In the meantime, we’ll have to be patient.
