Big prediction from Ohio State Buckeyes QB Will Howard for Week 1 against Akron

Will Howard will play football for the Ohio State Buckeyes for the first time this weekend.

Of course, facing the Akron Zips isn’t necessarily a big challenge. However, his name was mentioned a lot in the offseason. Much of it was positive, but you can be sure he heard all the doubts that were thrown at him.

Howard is expected to have a great performance heading into Week 1 against Akron, and if he doesn’t, there will be even more speculation and negative commentary about him in the media.

RotoWire has released his prediction for Howard for the season opener.

In their fantasy projections for Howard, they projected him to have 346.76 yards, 2.68 touchdowns, and 0.58 interceptions. Essentially, they’re projecting 347 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.

If Howard were to forego intercepting passes and simply deliver the other numbers, this would be exactly the type of game Ohio State is hoping to see from its new starting quarterback.

The total yards and touchdowns are fine. He won’t have to handle the same aerial load as Justin Fields and CJ Stroud right away.

The Buckeyes also have two real star running backs in Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson. Both running backs will be used frequently this weekend.

If Howard can throw for about 350 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions, the game would be a huge success.

Nevertheless, Ohio State fans can hardly wait for Saturday. The offseason was long and they are looking forward to watching the Buckeyes football game live on television again.

Getting the chance to see what Howard is capable of for the first time is just an added bonus. Hopefully he can live up to expectations and let his game block out some of the outside noise.
