New app “Kampi” revolutionizes shrimp farm management

The app was developed in collaboration between Canadian and Ecuadorian experts and is scheduled to be officially launched at the Global Shrimp Forum in Utrecht, the Netherlands, from September 3 to 5.

Kampi, powered by artificial intelligence, introduces a management approach called dynamic precision farming. This innovative method enables real-time monitoring of shrimp farms and allows farm operators to make timely and informed decisions from any location in the world. The app’s developers believe that Kampi offers a more sophisticated alternative to existing shrimp farm management software, especially those that lack intelligent or predictive features.

The app integrates three main functions: Vision, Optima and FarmBook.

  • Vision is a real-time mobile tool that uses artificial intelligence to analyze photos taken with a smartphone. It provides instant shrimp size information, accurately determines average weight per pond, and displays weight distribution data in easy-to-use histograms.
  • Optima offers a comprehensive analytics solution that provides insights into shrimp farm efficiency and processes. This capability includes a modeling and forecasting tool, Optima Predictions, that provides real-time data to anticipate potential scenarios in the shrimp business.
  • FarmBook connects the communication channels of agricultural companies, enabling optimized coordination and information sharing across all stages of the production chain.

Kampi will be introduced at the Global Shrimp Forum by Katie Sokalsky, CEO, and Eduardo Arosemena, Global Chief Operations Officer. Sokalsky, who brings a background in finance and technology, is focused on applying digital transformation to the aquaculture sector. Eduardo Arosemena, who has extensive experience in shrimp production and management, will also bring his expertise to the initiative.

The Global Shrimp Forum is considered a key industry event and provides an ideal platform for the launch of Kampi. The app is expected to generate significant interest from stakeholders looking to improve the efficiency, sustainability and profitability of their operations.
