GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Packers players and fans are gearing up for the opening game of the preseason.
The team travels to Cleveland to face the Browns.
Everyone is increasingly excited to see their favorite players back on the field for this game.
Some fans can hardly contain their excitement as they head to the pro shop to buy new jerseys, t-shirts and cheeseheads to kick off the season.
The Packers’ communications team said this will be the ninth time the Green and Gold will play their first preseason game against the Browns.
There is one player who seems to be on everyone’s lips at the moment: a lot of love for Jordan Love.
Some fans say they can’t wait to see him play in Cleveland.
“I mean, he really came out of the woodwork at the end of last season, so I’m looking forward to seeing his progress this season. Definitely,” said Jennifer Procknow, a New London fan.
“Love has to stay up, right? That’s a big deal. I’m excited to see what Josh Jacobs and the receivers can do. But I’m really excited about the defense because defense is how you win championships. If we’re going to get anywhere, it’s going to come through an athlete and his guys,” said Paul Johnson, a fan from Grantsburg.
“I want to see what our quarterback does and how he works with all of his receivers this year,” said Jackie Lenoble, a fan from Arizona.
The fans here at home send their best wishes to Ohio as they kick off the season.
The game is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 3:25 p.m.
