Andre 3000 explained why the argument between Drake and Kendrick Lamar made him “sad.”
During an interview with Crack Magazine3000 explains: “At some point I became a little sad,” he admitted.
He continued: “In the early rap battles, kids would rap against each other in the park. But today, it’s not just people who rap.”
“You have people with 100 employees. You have livelihoods, empires, companies, businesses – everything can be at stake. If you have nothing to lose, then of course you can try. But if I’ve already done it, I’m not sure if it’s even worth it anymore.”
3 Stacks is not the only artist who has expressed his opinion on the battle. In an interview with BillboardLatto also shared her thoughts. “I’m not going to lie: I liked it – I liked the back and forth. I thought it was healthy for the culture. It just felt nostalgic. I don’t think our generation has ever experienced a rivalry like that. I blew it,” she expressed.
“I also think people get too into it. I feel like it’s two n—as that are destroying this sh-t and they’re both so talented and they’re both sitting on their high horse showing off their talent and their abilities. They’re both still those n–as, they’re both still the GOAT. That sh-t is a curse to the culture, bro,” she continued.
