A cross-agency resource center opens in Sarasota

SARASOTA, Florida – A facility to support victims of Tropical Storm Debby in Sarasota is now open
The Multi-Agency Resource Center is located at Sarasota Christian Church, 2923 Ashton Road, Sarasota.
Local and state resources will be available.
The times and dates are:

  • 9am to 7pm today, Saturday, August 10th
  • 1pm–5pm Sunday, August 11
  • 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, August 12

Individuals are asked to call 311 if they need transportation to the Resource Center. These free rides from anywhere in Sarasota County to the Resource Center are one-way trips. When a resident is finished visiting the Resource Center, they should call 311 to request a ride home. No new rides will be accepted to the Resource Center within one hour of closing and only return trips will be made during that time. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are also available.
Free Lyft rides to the Resource Center and Woodmere Park Evacuation Center are also available. Rides can be claimed using the code DEBBYRELIEF24, which is valid for two rides up to $25 each through August 11 at 11:59 p.m.

COMMUNITY DELIVERIES
Starting today, Saturday, county teams will be in the communities of Pinecraft, Laurel Meadows and Phillippi Creek daily from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. distributing relief supplies to community members most affected by the storm.
Basic necessities may vary but include, for example, buckets, hygiene kits, water, baby items, baby food and cleaning products.

Crisis resolution hotline
If you need help cleaning up damage from Hurricane Debby, call 1-844-965-1386 to be connected with volunteers from local relief agencies, community groups and faith-based organizations.

These groups may be able to help with excavation, trees, tarps and debris. All services are free, but due to the tremendous need, service cannot be guaranteed. This hotline will remain open until Friday, August 23.

Please note: This hotline cannot assist with social services such as food, clothing, housing, insurance, or FEMA registration questions. Volunteers work for free and provide the tools needed to do the job. For more information, visit crisiscleanup.org (m9gkp4cab.cc.rs6.net).
