However, you have to ask him about his role in the latest and arguably biggest rap controversy, where a large part of the industry seemed to have its sights set on Drake, right?
Now that the tension has subsided (somewhat), Rocky understands that this has been brewing for years.
“You have to realize that certain niggers have been shooting at each other for years. I’m not in the middle of it,” he says. “I’m not going to react like that now. I’ve got more important things to do than a bunch of wimps.”
He explains that the problems within the music industry are nothing compared to the real problems on the streets and have far more serious consequences, so this incident cannot change anything for him.
“It’s really tough out there. It’s real. N-Ga gases are really being harassed and bombarded every day. N-Ga gases are bombarding N-Ga gases every day. This little crap has nothing to do with nothing,” he adds.
Rocky is more concerned with raising his two sons – two-year-old RZA and one-year-old Riot Rose – with Rihanna and giving them a normal childhood like he did.
He also plans to do this in Harlem or at least in a similarly vibrant city.
“I think living in Harlem gives you the freedom to walk to the store or to the park, clear your head, go on the swings, be more present and active. I think if you live in a suburb somewhere, you’re probably more inclined to just go to work, go to the mall, drive your car and stuff. Here you’re just present. You’re more in the thick of things,” he said, adding that despite their megastar status, her parents “are still people. They’re human beings.”
