All the latest news at the National Buffalo Wing Festival

The National Buffalo Wing Festival returns to Highmark Stadium this weekend, and wing lovers have a lot of new things to look forward to.

According to their press release, there will be several changes to this year’s National Buffalo Wing Festival, including the layout of the festival. While festival-goers will still have access to the field to hang out and take photos, all activities such as the chicken wing eating contest and food vendors will be held on the main concourse inside the stadium.

This year, the festival will also feature plenty of new wing flavors to try. There are 63 new flavors to try, including Maple Bacon Jalapeno, French Toast, Cajun Rum Butter, Whiskey Apple Bourbon, Hot Dill Pickle, Hawaiian BBQ, Pineapple Rum, Garlic Alfredo, Smoked Bourbon and Spicy Loganberry.

Also new this year is the People’s Choice Award. Festivalgoers can vote for their favorite grand piano at the festival via a QR code. Other votes include current topics such as ranch vs. blue cheese, drums vs. flats, and dipping vs. not dipping.

In addition to all the new features at this year’s National Buffalo Wing Festival, many popular dishes will also be returning. This includes over 100 different types of wings, live music, contests like Blue Cheese Bobbing and Chicken Wing Eating Showdown, and more. The festival will also once again donate to local charities. Since its inception, the National Buffalo Wing Festival has donated over $470,000 to local charities. This year, the festival is donating to FeedMore WNY and the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY.

The festival will take place on Saturday, August 31st from 12pm to 9pm and on Sunday, September 1st from 12pm to 7pm.
