Tulsa King (Season 2)

Available from September 15th

After the first season ended with a cliffhanger in which Dwight was cheated on and the future of his relationship with Stacy and his daughter Tina was uncertain, the second season of Tulsa King couldn’t come fast enough. The second season looks to pick up where the first left off, dealing with Dwight’s new financial difficulties and the looming threat of enemies like Chickie, the new boss of the Invernizzi crime family who is looking to stake his claim on the Oklahoma underworld.

Tulsa Kings debut season in 2022 certainly came with some hype, with many calling it Sylvester Stallone’s best performance since Believe. The show’s mix of crime, drama and humor, supported by a strong cast including standout actors such as Martin Starr and Andrea Savage, made it a must-watch for many. Some viewers described it as a “guy pleasure,” while some critics called it a “soap opera for guys.” Tulsa King Season 2 is the most eagerly awaited ongoing series. Tulsa King Season 2 will stream on September 15th.

Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored History of 80s Hair Metal (Documentary Series)

Available from September 17th

The three-part miniseries examines one of the most notoriously wild eras in music history: the hair metal scene of the ’80s. The thrilling music documentary series offers a candid look behind the scenes with interviews with some of the biggest bands of the time, including Poison, Ratt, Ozzy Osbourne, WASP and Skid Row. It also features cultural commentary from Riki Rachtman, Corey Taylor and Steve-O. The honest look at the era touches on all the glamour and wild parties, but also the consequences of drug addiction and life on the road.

Decades after the era of “hair metal,” it may not hold quite the same appeal as it once did (if you don’t know any of the bands, ask your parents; they might even have it on vinyl). However, there is an undeniable attraction to a “live fast, die young” mentality that is oddly alluring in this era of music, where many bands rose to fame quickly and struggled under the pressure of success like they were catching lightning in a bottle. Since tales of epic partying and debauchery have always been associated with this era of music, it will be fascinating to see what stories the docuseries digs out. Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The uncensored history of 80s hair metal will be streamed on September 17th.

Dreams of a damned fairy tale (premiere)

Available from September 26th

Dreaming of escaping the boredom of her work and lack of love life, Shin Jae-rim imagines herself living in a Cinderella-like scenario. Her job as a social club manager pushes her to find her own “prince charming,” and she thinks she’s found the perfect match when she meets the cynical heiress to a fortune, Moon Cha-min. Moon Cha-min doesn’t believe in love and initially pushes her away, only to grow closer. But as the two get to know each other and Jae-rim takes charge of her own life, a shy relationship develops between the two very different personalities.

Although there were mixed reactions online, Dreaming of a damn fairy tale screams “guilty pleasure romance,” perfect for a binge sesh. Considered somewhat formulaic, familiarity is certainly comforting, and audiences can expect sharp comedic beats and heartwarming moments as one would expect from a Korean rom-com. Pyo Ye-jin of What’s wrong with Minister Kim Fame and Lee Jun Young from Good Casting are also the perfect pair. The series should warm your heart when the months get a little cooler in September. Dreaming of a damn fairy tale will be streamed on September 26th.

Shows will be added to the Paramount+ library in September. Note: CBS shows can be streamed live from Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers via the live feed on Paramount+. These titles will be available on-demand to all subscribers the day after their air date.
