Thanks to Lindsay Lohan, a new hair phenomenon is currently taking social media by storm that is part feel-good and part Instagram-worthy trend.

Introducing “churro waves,” a cascade of golden-brown curls that curl like sweet, cinnamon-dusted treats. The doughy and delicious style has effortlessly hit the nail on the head in the beauty industry, proving to be the industry’s most delicious trend yet.

Forget strawberry blonde, “churro hair” takes a cue from the beauty obsession with all things naughty but nice. With caramel highlights, buttercream blonde and cherry cola, the A-list-approved hack serves up the perfect candy.

The source of this delicious trend? Celebrity hairdresser Dimitris Giannetos, whose clients include Amal Clooney, Gigi Hadid, Megan Fox, Joey King and, of course, “churro” champion Lindsay.

“Sweet and messy,” is how Giannetos sums up the trend: “It includes a combination of mermaid waves and flat waves. The ‘messy’ look of various intentionally frizzy waves and the orange color with a hint of blonde (somewhere between strawberry blonde and cinnamon) symbolizes ‘churro’ hair.”

If you’re looking to dye your hair from summer to fall, this could be for you: “Start with a copper base, but ask for lighter highlights throughout the hair. If you want to achieve this look at home, I recommend the ‘L’Oreal Paris Le Color Gloss in Honey Blonde’ to really achieve this amazing shade.”

It’s no secret that redheads have a certain attitude. What does it take to pull off the fiery tone? “If you’re chic and sophisticated, you’ll definitely pull off this hair trend. It’s the best hairstyle for transitioning into fall and gives an effortless look like you just rolled out of bed with those perfect cinnamon sugar waves.”

Beauty fans were instantly drawn to Lindsay’s latest look, which was shared across social media. “Lindsay’s ‘churros’ hair is super popular,” says Giannetos. “Fans are already obsessed with her signature red look and love this fun new style on her. The texture of Lohan’s hair is everyone’s idea of the perfect sweet cinnamon churros, with a touch of blonde highlights that really make her face pop. The look also accentuates Lohan’s natural features with this iconic end-of-summer style switch.”
