The franchise was also graced with feature films every now and then, telling new, exciting stories with the iconic casts and crews of the established series, until the franchise was rebooted by Paramount. Many people believe that Paramount has become a Star Trek films, but the franchise already includes more than a dozen films of interest to fans, including some that came out after the launch of Paramount’s reboot franchise.

Fortunately, these treasures are more accessible than ever for new fans of the franchise. As mentioned in a report by Inverse, in addition to the Star Trek franchise, which runs on Paramount’s Paramount+ streaming service, the streaming platform Pluto TV has recently started offering fans the opportunity to watch all 13 currently released Star Trek Movies for free. Pluto TV is a free, ad-supported streaming TV platform, also owned by Paramount Global, that provides access to the Star Trek Franchise. The platform also has the entire Star Trek: The Original Series And Star Trek: The Next Generation available for new fans to try out.
While the shows are available on demand, Star Trek Movies will get their own channel on Pluto TV’s live TV offering, which will apparently run throughout August. This is a great catch for Pluto TV, as the movies are a pretty interesting entry into the franchise and could attract a lot of new users to the platform. Given the general price increases on streaming services, bolstering content on an ad-supported free platform like Pluto TV could actually be a move by Paramount to win back lost subscribers. If that were a possibility, it would make perfect sense to use the company’s most popular intellectual property as a test. While the future Star Trek Movies have to make some big changes from the existing ones, they are still great movies that can get casual gamers interested in the franchise. Better yet, the critically acclaimed Star Trek: The Original Series And Star Trek: The Next Generation The franchise presents itself at its best on the same platform.
Making the films available to a wider audience is certainly a great idea and comes at just the right time. The franchise is still growing, with Star Trek recently announced its most unique project that could appeal to fans outside of the science fiction genre, and more films are (hopefully) on the way. For now, fans should take advantage of the opportunity while it lasts and enjoy the films for free while they’re running.
