Anja Rubik used vodka to lighten her hair.
The 33-year-old model, who has presented campaigns for luxury fashion houses such as Chanel, Fendi and Chloé, admitted that she mixed the alcoholic drink with the juice of a lemon to lighten her golden locks.
Talking about caring for her mane, she said: “Sometimes I spray a mixture of both into my hair and it gives it a really nice sun-kissed effect that is far less harsh than bleach.”
The Polish beauty – the face of Kerastase L’Incroyable Blowdry – has acquired a catalogue of tips and tricks for keeping her hair looking fresh throughout her long catwalk career.
She added: “Don’t wash your hair unless you have to (because) the natural oils (are good for you).”
But when her hair feels a little flat, Anja – who has her own perfume line called Original – throws on a headband and applies a few spritzes of the beauty product to give it a boost.
She explained: “(I apply the product for a few hours) at the roots. Then when I take it off, the hair automatically stands up at the front. This saves me valuable hours of blow-drying to make my hair look bigger.”
But it’s not just her hair that the blonde beauty lets her creativity run wild. She also revealed that she often applies eyeshadow to her lips when she has forgotten to line her full pout.
Speaking to Stylist magazine about her beauty hacks, she said: “I put a tiny bit of Burberry’s Eye Colour Silk in Almond on a lip brush and line the outside of my lips. This creates a shadow that makes the lips appear much fuller.”
