Auddia Inc. has released the next version of its Faidr app, promising improvements to support expanded user metrics and increased subscription revenue.

Auddia describes itself as an AI platform for audio identification and classification and related technologies that is “reinventing the way consumers engage with AM/FM radio, podcasts and other audio content.” Faidr offers subscription-based, ad-free listening to all AM/FM stations and podcasts, as well as interactive digital feeds.

“Given the cost of installing faidr for free, we have known for some time that consumers respond very positively to the message of being able to listen to AM/FM radio streams without commercials,” said CEO Jeff Thramann.

To generate significant revenue from this, the company has focused on creating new opportunities “to convert this consumer interest into repeat customers, on terms that can lead to significant subscriber revenue,” he said.

The company has added podcasts and exclusive content over the past year. The Forward+ feature now allows consumers to more easily skip content segments, such as chapters or commercial breaks. Another feature called Seamless, available on partner podcasts, allows consumers to avoid ads via a subscription.

The integration of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is still pending.
