(ABC 6 News) – It’s a milestone for Austin Area Arts as they celebrate their 10th anniversary at the Austin Artworks Center.
They invited everyone to celebrate this special occasion with them.
Austin Area Arts has been around since the 1990s, but due to steady growth they needed space and have been happy to call the Austin Artworks Center their home for the past 10 years.
“We see the staff growing, the program growing, the volunteers growing, people coming to visit – we have a great community and they are definitely taking advantage of our space,” said Kelsey Ritchie, Austin Area Arts Operations Director.
People enjoyed refreshments, listened to live music and even had the chance to interact with some local artists.
Like Katie Hunerdosse, who worked hard on this piece of sidewalk. She talked about what this place meant to her.
“This space has allowed me to fully experience the art within this community and I really appreciate that.”
Austin Area Arts looks to the future and hopes to continue to have a positive impact on the community.
They are preparing for the 13th annual Austin Artworks Festival, which will take place this weekend.
