Baltimore Orioles receive brutal injury update on injured star pitcher

There was real concern within the Baltimore Orioles organization after Grayson Rodriguez was removed from his scheduled start and sent home to undergo further testing and imaging.

He was diagnosed with a latissimus problem, and the Orioles placed him on the injured list. This caused him to miss several months in 2022, and there are fears that it could happen again this time.

As Baltimore continues to get more information on what his schedule might look like, they received a brutal update on his future availability.

Accordingly Roch Kubatko from MASNThey will keep Rodriguez out of action for about 10 days and will have him undergo further imaging tests in about three weeks.

If there is no baseball activity over the next week and a half, there is a real possibility he will not pitch again during the regular season, and based on what the pictures show in about three weeks, the Orioles could be without their young star for the rest of the year.

If that happens, he would be the fourth starting pitcher from the Opening Day rotation to miss the rest of the season due to injuries sustained at various points during the season.

At the beginning of the year, Baltimore knew that their weakness was starting pitching.

That’s why they’ve secured a real top player in Corbin Burnes, who could be the elite shooter this young group needs.

Currently, the high-profile winter signing is their only healthy starter on opening day.

So the Orioles will be closely monitoring Rodriguez’s next moves, but if the updates contain negative news, he may have thrown his last pitch in 2024.
