Barcelona considers transfer of contract-free world champion

La Liga giants Barcelona are considering a move for a free-for-all midfielder.

This is the opinion of Barca insider Toni Juanmartí from Diario Sport, who names Adrien Rabiot as the player in question.

Of course, in the last 24 hours, those responsible at Camp Nou have been forced to restart their search for reinforcements in the centre of the stadium.

Previously, midfield star Marc Bernal was out of action for a long time.

The 17-year-old suffered a cruciate ligament tear in his left knee and is therefore expected to be out of action for most of the next twelve months.

That is why Barcelona started a last-minute search for fresh blood before the transfer deadline on Friday.

However, in case this does not succeed before the window slams shut, alternatives are already being sought.

And the aforementioned Rabiot is a player whose signing is being seriously considered.

According to a report from Diario Sport:

“If FC Barcelona manages to comply with the 1:1 Financial Fair Play rule, the club could carry out this operation within two to three weeks, provided the French international has not yet signed with another club.”
