Dr. Madhuri Agarwal explained in an interview with Vogue that hard water contains high levels of magnesium, silica and calcium. These minerals can build up on your skin and hair and cause problems. Hard water also prevents soap from rinsing out properly, leaving a “soapy residue” on your skin and hair.
