Best RB in Central Ohio High School Football in 2024

Who is the best running back in the Columbus area entering the 2024 Ohio high school football season? The Dispatch has announced its top 10 Central Ohio RBs, and now it’s your turn to vote.

Pick the best running back in the area and be sure to read our entire OHSAA season preview on Dispatch.com, which includes lists of the area’s best players in 2024, including the best seniors, juniors, sophomores and quarterbacks.

The RB poll closes at 12pm on August 15. Here are details on each player, followed by the poll.

  • Gerald Banks, Pickerington Central: 944 yards rushing, 181 yards receiving, 11 TDs at Watkins Memorial as a junior
  • Danny Blair, Fairfield Christian: Ran 1,431 yards and 19 TDs on 200 runs last year
  • Connor Corbett, Heath: Ran for 1,337 yards, caught 20 passes for 335 yards and scored 21 TDs last fall
  • Jayden Gwinn, Gahanna Lincoln: Three-star recruit who transferred from Westerville Central
  • Mikey Hess, Newark Catholic: 1,384 all-purpose yards, including 977 rushing yards, and nine TDs last year
  • Robert Lathon, Hartley: 1,543 yards rushing and 17 TDs last season
  • Henry Ohlinger, Grandview Heights: 1,360 yards rushing and 17 TDs last fall
  • Kentrell Rinehart, Westland: 2,837 yards rushing and 46 touchdowns last fall at Ready
  • Owen Ruff, Fairfield Union: 1,538 yards rushing and 17 TDs last season
  • Michael Taylor, Pickerington North: 912 yards rushing and 13 TDs as a junior
