Billie ‘Bill’ Wayne McBroom

Billie “Bill” Wayne McBroom of Warsaw passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving family at his residence.
He was born on June 7, 1941, in Catron, Missouri to Elcie Joiner and Luthern P. McBroom. Bill graduated from Parma High School in Parma, Missouri and attended the College of Ozarks. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1960 and proudly served as an aircraft engineer on the USS Ticonderoga for four years until he was honorably discharged.
In June 1967, Bill married the first love of his life, Mary Tripplet. Unfortunately, she passed away in 1988. He was lucky enough to meet a new partner: Joyce Eilene VanCuren, who had also lost her husband. On August 26, 1988, Joyce and Bill married and spent almost 36 years together before he passed away.
A hardworking and reliable man throughout his life, Bill worked as a tool and die maker in research and development for Zimmer in Warsaw. He retired in 2001 after 32 years with Zimmer.
Bill was never one to settle down. Even in retirement, he kept busy, helping to establish the Nazarene Church Family Center. He loved serving his Lord and enjoyed worshipping with his church family at Pathway Church in Warsaw.
As a hobby, he had a woodworking shop where he built wooden rocking horses for his family and close friends. Billie was a great craftsman and detail-oriented artist and also made many cedar chests and small sofa side tables.
He loved his family very much and enjoyed traveling with his wife Joyce on bus tours throughout the United States for 10 years. He lived a full life and witnessed many blessings over the years. He watched his children grow up and become parents themselves, and Bill loved his new role as a grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be loved forever and remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce E. McBroom, Warsaw; his son, Marcus (Kim) McBroom, Warsaw; and his daughter, Pamela Endicott, Warsaw. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Justin (Kara) McBroom, Warsaw; Ashley McBroom, Indianapolis; Jordan Aleman, Warsaw; Hannah (Steven) Jamison, Warsaw; Brittney (Sam) Weaver, Leesburg; and eight great-grandchildren: Brooke, Jordance, Daniel, Ellie, Kinley, Rowen, Benjamin, and Chloe. His first wife, Mary McBroom, predeceased him in 1988; and two brothers and a sister.
Friends and family may call prior to the service on Monday, August 26th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Bill’s life will be honored with a memorial service following the 1 p.m. service, led by Pastor Jarod Osborne. A graveside memorial service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw with military ceremonies conducted by members of the American Legion Post #49 and VFW #1126, both of Warsaw, and active members of the Navy Honor Guard.
