Billy Wayne McDill, age 70, a lifelong resident of Forest, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after a short illness.
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 12 noon in the chapel of the OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Forest. The Rev. Reid Stevens officiated. Burial followed at the Homewood Methodist Cemetery. The body was in state at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.
Billy was born in Forest on November 2, 1953. He worked as a truck driver for Koch Foods. He was a member of Forest Baptist Church. Billy loved his family and grandchildren, and he also loved the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
His father, Wayne McDill, predeceased him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 51 years, Shelia McDill; his mother, Christine Hardy McDill; two children, Timothy McDill (Amanda) and Joey McDill, all of Forest; a brother, David McDill, and a sister, Diane Cox (Wayne of Forest); his brother-in-law, Sammy Burgess of Homewood; and two grandchildren, Peyton McDill and Brennan McDill; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Pallbearers were Peyton McDill, Brennan McDill, Eric Burgess, Kyle Hutchinson, Michael Cox, Matthew Cox and Josh Lindsey.
