In a recent interview with MTV UK alongside her “It Ends with Us” co-star Isabela Ferrer, Lively revealed her unusual middle name and compared it to a famous “Harry Potter” character.
The revelation came about when Ferrer was tasked with guessing Lively’s full name. After the former “Gossip Girl” actress generously gave Ferrer several chances to figure out her middle name, Lively revealed the truth – it’s Ellender.
“What? So what?” Lively said, making fun of her middle name.
Ferrer was visibly confused by the name and asked Lively if it was pronounced “Ellendor,” to which Lively replied, “I’m not Dumbledore, I’m Ellender. To be honest, Dumbledore is probably a better choice.”
Lively added that the name always “confused” her and admitted that she “hated” it as a child.
“It’s not a name. I think my mother made it up by accident,” she said. “It’s not a word, it doesn’t exist.”
However, the “A Simple Favor” star admitted that she has now taken Ellender to her heart because her husband, fellow actor Ryan Reynolds, “loved” the name when he learned it.
“He said, ‘It sounds like lavender,’ and I was like, ‘Ooh,'” Lively said.
In February, Lively and Reynolds have had their fourth childa boy named Olin, which is also a unique name.
Before Reynolds announced Olin’s name last month, he was asked during an appearance on “Today” in May about his son’s name and whether it was buried somewhere on Taylor Swift’s latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
Swift, who is close friends with Lively, mentioned the names of Lively and Reynolds’ other children – James, Inez and Betty – in her 2020 album “Folklore.”
“We’re always waiting for Taylor to tell us what the baby’s name is, and I’ll tell you one thing: We’re still waiting,” Reynolds joked at the time.
