The Ohio State Buckeyes officially named Will Howard their starting quarterback on Thursday. Although this was the expected outcome from the start, Ryan Day made it official.
Now Howard will try to live up to all the hype that has been thrown at him since he decided to transfer to Ohio State.
There have been a lot of questions about his abilities, and after a decent but unsuccessful 2023 season with Kansas State, the pressure on Howard to have major success is enormous.

With the elite support around him, Howard will have the success expected of him, and a great personal season will also give him the opportunity to be selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Howard leads Ohio State to Big Ten championship and victory over Michigan
While individual success is always a good goal, what matters most is the success of the team.
Howard will lead the Buckeyes to a Big Ten title this season. He will also end Ohio State’s three-game losing streak against Michigan. Those two things will make the regular season a smashing success.
Obviously he will remain the starter throughout the season
There are questions about Howard and his ability to remain a starter all season. If he struggles, Day may have to replace him with Devin Brown or Julian Sayin. From the first two predictions, it’s clear that Howard will not be replaced.
