This year’s P&G Broadway season at the Walton Arts Center is one of the biggest ever, with “Shucked,” “Beetlejuice,” “MJ” and more in Fayetteville, but the 2024-25 season has a few more surprises in store.
“Kristin Chenoweth (December 3) is a must-see for me,” said Jennifer Wilson, senior public relations director for the Walton Arts Center. “She is a true icon and it will be very special to see her in a theater of our size.”
Individual tickets are now available for all shows this season at the Walton Arts Center. The popular Create Your Own Subscription option, which offers discounts on shows when customers reserve seats for multiple shows, is also still available.
The music lineup is particularly extensive this year, with not only the West Street Live and Starrlight Jazz Series, but the Land O’Lakes Concert Series is also heavily featured this season, Wilson said, with Keb’ Mo’ and Shawn Colvin, Lyle Lovett, Chenoweth and Ben Folds, who is taking song requests on paper airplanes for his Dec. 14 show.
“For those who enjoy music and theater, ‘Classic Albums Live: Abbey Road’ and ‘The Simon and Garfunkel Story’ combine the two and offer you a new way to experience your favorite music,” added Wilson.
The Pringles Kids Series offers a concert-like experience when “Blippi: Join The Band” comes to town on Dec. 10. The Symphony of Northwest Arkansas returns with the annual “The Snowman: A Family Concert,” following a pre-holiday performance of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” for the Family Fun Series.
New to the Walton Arts Center – and definitely not for kids – is the premiere of “INSIDIOUS: THE FURTHER YOU FEAR,” an immersive, interactive horror experience based on the film of the same name.
Also brand new is the U.S. premiere of Circa’s “Duck Pond,” a mix of comedy, circus and dance that is a new take on Swan Lake. This show is part of the 10×10 Arts Series, which offers shows for just $10 a ticket.
“We also have a new Cirque du Soleil show, ‘Songblazers,’ with a focus on country music that will be a lot of fun,” Wilson said. Staying with the country music theme, Wilson is looking forward to seeing “Shucked,” the comedy by Robert Horn with music by Shane McAnally and Brandy Clark. The P&G Broadway series includes one show each month between August and May.
Cocktail classes will also be held again in October, November, December, February, March and April. Wilson said the classes are available as an add-on, or guests can stop by to learn how to mix two new cocktails while enjoying appetizers.
Construction is underway downtown, so parking is a challenge this season, but planning ahead should pay off. The Walton Arts Center offers reserved, prepaid parking for $7 per show ticket. A limited number of prepaid spots are available in the Spring Street Deck, but Wilson warns those spots will sell out. She recommends that patrons download the Park Mobile app before each show.
