Broadway In Chicago hosts a free summer concert with 16 musicals in Millennium Park on Monday

CHICAGO (WLS) — The Broadway In Chicago Summer Concert is a highlight of the season and takes place this Monday night!

ABC7’s Hosea Sanders got a preview of what viewers can expect to see at the free musical extravaganza.

The theater concert takes place every year in August in Millennium Park. The evening is packed with the great soundtracks of Broadway hits.

Participants can sit in the Pritzker Pavilion or find a spot on the lawn.

Sanders will host the event Monday night with ABC7’s Val Warner in Millennium Park.

Broadway In Chicago’s Summer Concert starts at 6:15 p.m. and the price is right: it’s all free.

16 musicals are on their way to Chicago and will be performed there.

“Back to the Future: The Musical” premieres next week at the Cadillac Palace.

The Tony winner “Some Like It Hot” premieres in October.

“The Neil Diamond Musical: A Beautiful Noise” is coming to Chicago in November.

ABC7 will be among the first to experience the music from the world premiere of “Ali” next year in Chicago.

& Juliet,” a show about Juliet’s life after Romeo, and “Kimberly Akimbo!” will also be shown.

“Mean Girls” will be shown at the Auditorium in November.

“Tina: The Tina Turner Musical” can also be seen in the show.

“I’m not too proud – Life & Times Of The Temptations” will be repeated for one week only starting September 24th.
