Bublr Bikes offers free rides to polling stations during Wisconsin primary

Bublr Bikes makes it easier for you to get to your polling station on Tuesday.

To make it easier for you to get to the voting booth, Bublr offers free 30-minute rides.

TMJ4’s Symone Woolridge stopped by the Bublr station at Red Arrow Park in downtown Milwaukee to chat and learn more about the program with Laura Bogler, the executive director of Bublr.

“Just select ‘buy pass’. You select any bike. 25 cents per minute and here I’m going to have to enter my credit card,” Bogler demonstrated.

Watch: Get a free ride to the polls during the Wisconsin primary election.

You will need to enter your credit card information to get to the final purchase screen, but there is no cost to you. You have the free option.

And if you don’t have a credit card, just call Bublr and they’ll set it up for you.

Symone told a few people who were out and about in downtown Milwaukee about the freebie. Here’s what they thought:

Danielle Rodriguez lives downtown.

“It’s wonderful,” said Danielle Rodriguez, who lives downtown. “It’s a great way to get people from all over the city to get out.”

Linda Koenig

Linda Koenig rides her bike several times a week.

“I think everyone has to vote,” says Linda Koenig, who rides her bike several times a week. “If they hold back and don’t vote, they have no say.”

Todd Radmanovic

Todd Radmanovic works in downtown Milwaukee.

“Anything that gets people to vote is a good thing,” says Todd Radmanovic, who works downtown.

Depending on the Bublr station you use, some kiosk screens may be taped over. Unfortunately, according to Bogler, 39 bikes were destroyed or stolen at 14 different Bublr stations last month.

If you’re trying to rent a bike at a station with a broken kiosk, Bogler recommends using the app instead.
